Dental Veneers
Veneers are a great way of covering up stained, chipped or crooked teeth.
It is a much simpler process than you would imagine, needing just a couple of appointments. Veneers are brilliant for closing gaps, changing the colour or disguising misalignments. Basically, they consist of a thin porcelain layer which gets bonded onto your teeth – that’s it. We can help you decide if they are a good choice.
Composite bonding
Composite bonding is a great way of resolving minor damage or gaps in teeth.
Composite bonding is typically used for filling chips, fractures or gaps between teeth and for fixing discolouration.
We take a composite resin and this is attached to a tooth and then shaped to restore its original appearance. We match the colour of the resin to your natural teeth, so it’s a perfect fit.
White fillings
Whilst we can still use traditional amalgam, white fillings have become really popular. Some people feel conscious about their existing ‘silver’ ones. We can replace old fillings with white ones, and you will be amazed at the selection of shades available, and how long the modern materials last!
So, what are white fillings? They are constructed from tiny particles of glass and synthetic resin. Although they used to be considered less durable than the traditional fillings, that’s no longer the case. Before filling a tooth, we look at the bigger picture of your oral health, and consider if there are any other options. If a filling is necessary, anaesthesia is used so you will be pain-free, and we shape the filling carefully to make it as unobtrusive as possible. Finally, we check your bite is not altered and make final adjustments if necessary. We can advise you as to which filling will work best for you – that’s what we are here for!
